Water Purification in Escalon, Modesto & the 209 & 350

Water that meets every regulatory standard can still taste like a swimming pool, leave scale on your kettle and carry more dissolved solids than you would choose to drink. Purification is about what comes out of the tap you actually drink from.

We install and service multi-stage purification, from under-sink reverse osmosis for drinking and cooking water to whole-home carbon systems that treat every fixture. We test before and after, so you can see what changed. CA Lic. #953726.

Signs You May Need a Purification System

The tap usually tells you before a test does.

  • Chlorine taste or smell: municipal disinfectant residual, and the most common complaint we hear.
  • Metallic or bitter taste: dissolved metals or high total dissolved solids.
  • Cloudy water at the tap: sediment or trapped air, and worth identifying which.
  • Buying bottled water regularly: the clearest sign a purification system will pay for itself in convenience alone.
  • Rotten egg smell: hydrogen sulfide, common on well water and treatable.
  • Staining in sinks and tubs: iron, manganese or high mineral content.

Understanding Your Water Test Results

A test report is only useful if someone explains it. Total dissolved solids tell you the overall mineral load. Hardness tells you what will scale your water heater. Chlorine and chloramine explain taste and smell. Iron and manganese explain staining. pH affects how aggressive the water is toward your piping. Nitrates and bacteria matter most on well water.

We walk through the numbers with you and connect each one to a specific stage of treatment, so you know exactly what you are paying to remove and why.

Reverse Osmosis, Whole-Home Carbon, or Both

Reverse osmosis pushes water through a semi-permeable membrane and removes the widest range of dissolved contaminants. It is the right choice for drinking and cooking water at a single point of use, typically the kitchen sink, and it can tie into the refrigerator and a pot filler.

Whole-home carbon treats every tap in the house for chlorine, taste and odor, which is what you want for showers and laundry. Plenty of households install both: carbon for the whole house, reverse osmosis at the kitchen for drinking water.

Our Installation Process and Ongoing Service

We start with an on-site test and a conversation about what bothers you most about your water. Then we recommend the stages that address it, install with proper shutoffs and drain connections, and verify results by testing again afterward.

Filters and membranes are consumables. Carbon and sediment stages typically run six to twelve months, RO membranes several years, and we handle replacement on schedule so the system keeps performing rather than quietly stopping. Call 209.838.1000.

Questions We Get

Water Purification Systems FAQ

RO or whole-home?

RO for drinking and cooking water, whole-home carbon for taste, odor and chlorine at every tap. Many homes use both.

How often do filters change?

Typically every six to twelve months depending on the stage and your usage.

How do I know if my water is contaminated?

Testing is the only definitive answer. Taste, smell, staining and cloudiness are useful clues about what to test for.

What is the difference between filtration and purification?

Filtration removes particles and specific compounds like chlorine. Purification goes further, removing dissolved solids and a much broader contaminant range, which is what reverse osmosis does.

How long does installation take?

An under-sink reverse osmosis system is usually a same-day install. Whole-home equipment takes longer because it ties into the main supply.

Can I customize my purification system?

Yes. Stages are selected from your test results, so a home with sulfur odor gets a different configuration than one with only chlorine taste.

Do I need to replace filters regularly?

Yes. A neglected filter stops treating and starts restricting flow, so scheduled replacement is part of owning the system.

Is purified water safe for children and pets?

Yes. Purified water is safe for everyone in the household, including for baby formula and pet bowls.
